For my final major project, I chose to dive into the broad topic of algorithmic consumption and how that effects self-identity. I chose to design and promote an immersive exhibition that puts the viewer into the algorithm. This was it’s description:

‘In a world dominated by algorithms, our identities are constantly consumed, reconstructed and sold back to us. This exhibition is a journey through that cycle — from the spectacle that captures us, through the fragmentation of identity, and toward the possibility

of self-reclamation. Informed by Guy Debord's ‘Society of the Spectacle’, David Hume’s ‘An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding’, and Joseph M. Sirgy’s ‘Self-Congruity Theory’. The colours, typographic language and visual effects are all there to invoke feeling and emotion. The triangle, representing congruity, is the practice of one’s thoughts, feelings and actions all being in alignment. Algorithmic consumption builds a digital ‘wall’ around the identity meaning that it is tough for self-congruity to take effect in day to day life. Reclaim attention.’
